- ContacThe 72nd Annual Golden Globe Awards kicks off in less than an hour, but celebs are already hitting the carpet! From bold hues, to plunging necklines, we can already tell that tonight will be a great one for fashion.
Last night, the best in television and film were honoured at the 2015 Golden Globes. As the celebrities rolled onto the red carpet we fell on love with the some looks. From bold hues, to plunging necklines, the 2015 was a great one for fashion. Let’s see what they wore!
Jennifer Lopez did actually what she does best — slay the red carpet. She worked a sultry beaded Zuhair Murad cape gown with a plunging neckline and a thigh-high slit…what’s not to like?
How To Get Away With Murder actress Viola Davis chose a breathtaking Donna Karan Atelier strapless gown with rhinestone embellishment. Ravishing.
Kerry Washington went for an unexpected choice in an off-the-shoulder two-tone raffia Mary Katrantzou dress. Hmmm…
Chrissy Teigen and John Legend might have already won Best Dressed Couple of the night, with Chrissy in a showstopping Zuhair Murad gown. As you can see, she’s ready to own 2015 like she did last year. I’m here for it!
My night was made when Amal Clooney hit the red carpet in a Dior Couture gown and her own white opera gloves. She’s simply…everything.
Lupita Nyong’o was outfitted in a floral purple haute couture gown by Giambattista Valli. Love the color and her hair (!), but am on the fence with the design. What do you think?
Salma Hayek’s strapless ivory brocade Alexander McQueen gown cinched at the waist with a gunmetal metallic belt was beautiful, but her cuff and floral hair accessory were overkill.
Camila Alves was pretty in pink in a strapless Monique Lhuillier number. Matthew McConaughey’s scruffy beard wasn’t such a great complement, but I excuse him since he’s working on a role!
Gina Rodriguez walked away with an award for her role on Jane the Virgin! She was also a winner in the style department, sporting a strapless black Badgley Mischka gown. Keep your eyes on this woman — she’s definitely going to make waves in 2015!
Uzo Aduba was hands down one of the best dressed in an embellished halter column gown from Randi Rahm.
Orange Is The New Black actress Danielle Brooks flaunted her curves in a black lace number with gold sides. The length left a bit to be desired, but she looked beautiful nonetheless.
A little va-va-voom was on the menu for Kate Hudson who flaunted her lithe physique in a white cutout side Versace design. Fabulous!
Heidi Klum started the new year off perfectly in a one-shoulder Versace gown with a sequin-detailed bodice and a front slit. Glamour of the highest order.
Reese Witherspoon’s metallic Calvin Klein column gown wasn’t groundbreaking, but it’s always nice to see an expertly-tailored simple gown.
Selma Director Ava Duvernay was the epitome of chic in a caped navy Zac Posen creation. Yasss to that updo. Hot!
Maria Menounos went bold in a cobalt blue embellished Gabriela Cadena gown and Chopard jewels. I live for her style.
Emma Stone’s strapless Lanvin jumpsuit with an embellished bodice and contrast trousers with a train back was refreshing and youthful.
I cannot wait to see the Entourage movie! The cast posed together on the red carpet and everyone looked great — no small feat for six people.
Amy Adams served ice queen realness in a powder blue Versace design. Isn’t she stunning?
Diane Kruger also was quite icy in an Emilia Wickstead piece. I’m usually in love with Diane’s fashion choices, but I would have liked a bit more from her here.
Boho chic babe Sienna Miller chose one of her favorite brands, Miu Miu, for the night in a fresh and lighthearted embellished gown with a plunging neckline. Pretty!
Jessica Chastain smoldered in a bronze Atelier Versace halter number. Sexy yet refined: it doesn’t get much better than this.
Bring on the drama! Julianne Moore was impossible to miss in a silver metallic custom Givenchy Couture gown with a feather bottom. Utter elegance.
Selma’s David Oyelowo sizzled in a sparkly blue suit.
Jennifer Aniston switched it up and opted for a Saint Laurent halter gown with a sequin bodice, wide waistband, and thigh-high slit. Hot!
Gone Girl actress Rosamund Pike skewed bridal in a Vera Wang gown and Fred Leightondiamonds.
An embellished Jason Wu number was Michelle Monaghan’s choice for the night. I wasn’t overwhelmed, which is usually the opposite of how I feel about anything created by Jason Wu.
Girls actress Allison Williams was the lady in red in a strapless beaded and ruffled gown from Armani Privé in the fiery shade. This skewed a bit too retro-inspired for my liking.
Lena Dunham was also in red, choosing a high-low satin Zac Posen dress. I thought Lena was on a roll with her Saint Laurent look, but this wasn’t very flattering on her figure.
It was hard to believe that Antonio Berardi designed the strapless black and white embellished gown that one of the night’s hosts, Tina Fey, slipped on for the occasion — the designer is normally known for his incredibly sleek and modern designs but he skewed a bit frothy with this one.
Can you tell strapless was the silhouette of the evening? Comedienne Leslie Mann opted for a cheerful yellow Kaufmanfranco dress that showed off her décolletage. The green accoutrements set this off — stunning.
Lorde skewed menswear-inspired in a Narciso Rodriguez suit, sleek chignon, red lips, and a Neil Lane Choker. The trousers needed a bit of tailoring, but I thought this was quite classy for the eighteen year-old.
Taylor Schilling opted for a chic and beguiling Ralph Lauren halter gown with keyhole detailing.
A white crisscross Michael Kors halter gown with cutout detailing was Emily Blunt’s choice for the awards show.
In case you were wondering how it should be done, Jane Fonda showed us all in a sultry red Versace number. Take notes kids!
Who had your favorite look at the awards show?
